Thank you for choosing Capital Nephrology Associates as part of your healthcare team.  Capital Nephrology Associates is dedicated to the care and treatment of patients with kidney disorders, kidney transplant patients and patients who are on dialysis.  We are committed to maintaining and improving the health of the patients we treat and strive to provide excellence in the diagnosis, treatment and management of our patients’ medical conditions.  We have multiple locations servicing Austin and the surrounding areas for your convenience.

Appointments

Please note:  If you need to change the date or time of your appointment, please call at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time to avoid a late cancellation fee.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.

Please bring the following items with you to your first appointment:

• Referral from your primary care physician (if applicable)
• Insurance Card
• Any copay amount you are responsible for (if applicable)
• A detailed list of all medications you are currently taking including dosages or medication bottles
• Completed New Patient Packet

Your visit will include:

• Verification of patient and insurance information along with collection of copay (if required) with the front desk receptionist
• Weight and vital signs taken by a medical assistant
• Medication and medical history review by a physician
• Patient examination and treatment by a physician
• Follow-up appointment scheduling and billing processing at check out

We will not perform any lab tests in the office, but your physician may order lab testing such as urine or blood analysis to be completed before your next office visit.  Please complete the lab testing about one week prior to your next appointment date so that your physician can review these results with you during your next visit. 

Insurance Plans and Billing

Capital Nephrology Associates accepts most insurance plans in our area including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, PPO's and indemnity insurance plans.  Please check with your insurance company to verify that we are providers for your plan.  If you are part of an HMO or other plan that requires referrals to our office, please coordinate with your primary care physician for a referral prior to your appointment with us.  If we are not participating with your plan, please let us know, and we will work with you to obtain an individual agreement for your care. 

Our billing staff works together with our patients to ensure services received are processed correctly and expediently.  The billing office may be contacted at (512) 382-0037 regarding your concerns.

Office Hours and After Hour Contacts

Patient care is provided at our Austin office locations Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. One or more physicians are on call 24 hours a day.  After hours, our on-call physician(s) can be reached by calling the Medical Exchange at (512) 467-5381 or (512) 458-1121.

In the case of a medical emergency, please call 911.
